A recall can require accurate identification, coordinated communication and a defensible decision about affected stock. A quality audit can examine readiness without inventing an average recall cost or promising that certification prevents recalls.

Questions to follow in an audit

  • How can the organisation identify affected batches and recipients?
  • Who makes and records a withdrawal or recall decision?
  • How are communications and corrective actions checked?
