ASCB-accredited certification

ISO 45001 certification

An occupational health and safety management system helps organisations reduce workplace risk, involve workers and improve health and safety performance. AAA provides an impartial, predominantly remote certification journey with clear audit planning and communication.

What the audit evaluates

Hazards and risks

How hazards are identified and OH&S risks and opportunities are assessed.

Worker participation

How consultation, participation, competence and communication work in practice.

Operational control

How change, contractors, emergencies, incidents and improvement are managed.

Certification, not consultancy. We explain the audit and certification process, but do not design or implement the management system we certify.

How the certification journey works

We agree the activities, locations, workers and proposed scope before planning the audit. The programme reflects your operational risks and the way work is actually carried out.

1. Application and planning

Tell us about your work activities, people, contractors and sites to see an initial fee based on your answers. We then review the declared scope and plan the audit programme.

2. Stage 1 and Stage 2

Stage 1 reviews readiness and the structure of your OH&S management system. Stage 2 samples how arrangements work through interviews, records and operational activities.

3. Review and decision

Findings are documented clearly. After any required response, technical review and an independent certification decision take place before a certificate is issued.

Much of the work can be remote. Where risks or the scope call for observing activities on site or by live video, we explain that in the audit plan. Your auditor will discuss what reasonably needs covering; any onsite days are agreed in advance and charged separately at £400 per day plus VAT.

What evidence might we sample?

We look for an OH&S system that is used by the people doing the work, including contractors where relevant. Evidence may include:

Hazards and controls

How hazards are identified, risks and opportunities assessed, and operational controls applied to routine and changing work.

Participation and obligations

Worker consultation and participation, responsibilities, competence and the way applicable legal and other requirements are managed.

Incidents and improvement

Emergency preparedness, incident investigation, performance monitoring, internal audits, management review and corrective action.

AAA assesses the system independently. We explain our audit findings but do not act as your health and safety consultant.

Work beyond the head office

Describe where work really happens, including temporary projects, client premises and contractor activity when relevant. A head office record may show the procedure, but the audit also needs evidence that workers understand and use the controls where the risk arises. We may sample worker consultation, changes to a job, supervision, incident learning and the way contractor work is managed.

Remote first, proportionate observation. We consider whether interviews, records and live video give sufficient evidence. Where a physical visit is needed, your auditor will agree what should reasonably be covered in advance. See our remote audit approach.

Build the right audit programme

The initial fee reflects your declared people, sites, activities and standards. Annual surveillance is priced separately.
